INTRODUCTION
Clarinet is one of woodwind family instruments that has a single-reed mouthpiece, flaring bell and has key holes along straight cylinder tube. An example of another instruments of woodwind family is oboe, saxophone, bassoon and flute.
HOW TO PLAY FIRST 3 NOTES ON CLARINET CORRECTLY
1. CLARINET PLAYING POSITION
After assemble the clarinet correctly, first make sure that we are sit straightly on a right position of playing instrument, sit on about half of your chair and one of your leg move front than other leg to support a balancing while playing and instruments.
Actually, clarinet has been design suitable for for because all the key are near to finger n the right position. Clarinet needs to hole about 40° with your body. Clarinet's weight is on thumb under the rest and balanced between this point and the mouth. The thumb must contact the thumb rest on the flesh to the side of the nail. Then left thumb placed on hole of the back side of the clarinet and other finger on the register key on the clarinet. This thumb is placed on that angle so that the fleshly part of ball is closing the hole, the side of tip just touching but not pressing under the key.
After that, the remaining fingers of each hand lie in a natural curve and close the tone hole with
the fleshly parts fingers away from the tip. the finger may approach the clarinet at a slight upper angle with the wrists kept flat.
2. EMBOUCHURE FORMATION
Embouchure need to check regularly with mirror until the embouchure are quite strong enough. Keep the lips lightly together and drop the lower jaw. Shape the lip as if saying we-too. The corner of the mouth are slightly compressed and there are wrinkles on the lips. Maintain your mouth position and insert mouthpiece of clarinet into mouth allowing reed to push lower lip over the teeth. If you have thicker teeth, you have to lees the lip over the teeth. Contact the lips and especially the corner of the mouth inward and around so that there are pressure against the mouthpiece from all direction and no air over the teeth. The upper teeth rest, but don't press to much, is about half inch from end same with lower lip. Lower lip must not bite or exert pressure against lower lip.
3. LEARN FIRST THREE NOTE
The first the note are middle C, D and E. For the C note, left thumb close the hole and close the hole with your index finger, middle finger and ring finger. Then blow your instruments.
For the D note, left thumb close the hole and close the hole with your index and middle finger but this time you have to up the ring finger, means that open to hole under ring finger. Then blow your clarinet.
For the E note, left thumb close the hole and close the hole with your index finger. Middle finger and the ring finger need to open the to under hole. Then blow your instrument.

For the beginner clarinet player need to apply the correct technique to play the instrument first and needs to always practice to build a strong embouchure and everything.
